Dr. Arun Garg is the head of stroke neurology at Medanta, where he envisions developing a "brain rescue" program for immediate and long-term stroke management across North India, with Medanta as its epicenter. This program adheres to international healthcare standards and is the first of its kind in India. Dr. Garg has established a three-tier system in North India, connecting primary and secondary brain rescue centers to Medanta - The Medicity, Gurgaon, via a network of ambulances and telemedicine. He has pioneered thrombolysis in acute stroke treatment in this region. Dr. Garg is passionate about stroke prevention, education, treatment, rehabilitation, and the latest research, having collaborated with the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass) for these purposes. In addition to acute stroke management, he is deeply interested in post-stroke neuro-rehabilitation, which is facilitated by a multidisciplinary team at Medanta. He has organized and designed the "Essentials of Acute Stroke Treatment (EAST)" training course for physicians and healthcare providers at primary and secondary level hospitals. Dr. Garg has a strong record of publications in national and international journals and is dedicated to teaching. He previously established neurology services at Max Hospital, Delhi.
